Works Carried Out

New Double-Glazed Sashes

We installed brand-new timber sash windows, upgraded with slimline double-glazed units. These provide enhanced thermal efficiency and noise reduction while preserving the classic appearance of the original windows. The new sashes were custom-built to match existing proportions and installed with traditional cords and weights.

Renovation of Existing Window Cases

All existing window cases were thoroughly inspected and repaired as needed. This included replacing any deteriorated timber elements such as linings, parting beads, or pulley stiles, ensuring the structural stability of each unit. The work was carried out with care to retain as much original material as possible.

Full Fascia Replacements to Front Bay Windows

To the front elevation, we carried out full fascia replacements across four large bay windows. These upgrades restored the clean architectural lines of the bays, providing both improved weatherproofing and a refreshed visual impact in keeping with the style of the property.

Sash Cord Replacement

Each new sash was fitted with high-quality nylon-core cotton sash cords to ensure smooth, long-lasting operation. The cords were carefully tensioned and balanced with restored or replaced weights as required.

Traditional Pointing & Ironmongery

We used traditional sand mastic pointing techniques to seal and finish the external joints, improving both weather resistance and aesthetic cohesion. New ironmongery was fitted throughout, including solid brass catches and lifts, combining period authenticity with modern reliability.

Fresh Paint Finish

To complete the works, all windows received a full paint finish. Externally, we applied a protective oil-based coating, while the interiors were treated with a smooth satin finish. This dual-layer approach offers lasting protection and a crisp, clean look both inside and out.
